TCLA’s Crash Course This was an intense one-Day training event to help you get a contract. We brought together a group of talented people from the profession to give a crash-course on mergers, acquisitions, legal technology, and the role that lawyers play in the City.

Legal Technology Crash Course, Alistair Wye

Alistair works cross-culturally-Functionally, he worked with a global team made up of technologists and lawyers to find, develop, and validate opportunities for strategic innovation within his firm. Prior to re-entering private practice, Alistair created and led iManage RAVN’s presales operations advising on product strategy, working with top global law firms and FTSE 100 in-To design and implement AI powered data extraction software for due diligence and contract report writing, house legal teams are required. Before moving into legaltech, Alistair began his career as a banking lawyer – primarily focused on leveraged finance – working at Latham & Watkins, Ashurst and Deutsche Bank.

This course will teach you how to understand legal technology. You’ll also learn about the history of legal technology. Alistair walks through a variety of interview topics and applications.
Arun Sohan, Mastering Interviews-Pall

Arun is a future trainee at Kirkland & Ellis. He has completed five vacation plans at international firms and all have been converted to training contracts.

Understanding the City, Christopher Stoakes und Ben Staveley
Chris qualified as a solicitor at Freshfields but then became a financial journalist and edited publications on international legal practice, investment management, M&A and tax.

He was an instructor on an MBA for lawyers, and was also a founding member of Sherwood PSF Consulting, which specializes in law firm advice.
He is the author and best-Selling guides to students about the financial markets (All you need to know about The City) as well as business (All you need to know About Commercial Awareness). Ben was a solicitor who worked in private practice for more than 20 years. He was a one-firm lawyer − a tax partner at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He led an initiative across the firm to improve writing and drafting in all offices and practice areas after he retired from law practice.

Mergers & Acquisitions Crash CourseBobby Reddy

Bobby Reddy is a Lecturer in Corporate Law at the University of Cambridge. He teaches company law and corporate governance.

Previously, Mr. Reddy was a corporate partner at global law firm Latham & Watkins LLP, dividing his time between the London and Washington D.C. offices. He was a specialist in public and private acquisitions, private equity and investment funds, regulatory, and cross-border transactions.-Border transactions and company representation

This course will help you understand the differences between private and publicly-owned mergers and acquisitions. It will also teach you how to do due diligence.
