When friends ask me how ClickMinded is going, or when someone asks whether or not we are growing, I like to say that ClickMinded used to be a dumpster fire that makes money in spite of us and not because of us.

I have been doing digital marketing for almost 10 years now, but it was only recently that it started to feel like this business was not constantly on fire.

The list of things that went wrong every week was ENDLESS.

In fact, the most infamous example is perhaps the launch of version 5 of our SEO Course in the summer of 2017.

Our email list wasn’t organized, so we spent 2 full days just trying to figure out who we should and shouldn’t email.
We hosted a webinar and sent a broken link to our entire email list, and then wondered why no one was coming.
After the webinar, we sent 2 more emails with broken links. People wanted to buy, but they just couldn’t.
One of our automated systems broke, people had paid us, but they couldn’t access the course they paid for.
The webinar was a disaster. I was in a small room with no AC and my internet connection was terrible. People kept complaining about not being able to hear or see me. I was sweating and it looked like I had been kidnapped by ISIS.

I think you get the picture.
That changed when we started using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

SOPs are just really comprehensive checklists. They are EXTREMELY DETAILED instructions that anyone can follow to perform a specific task and get the same outcome over and over again.
