There’s a subtle difference, and also a similarity, between collective intergenerational trauma and ancestral intergenerational trauma. One can be seen as a macrocosm that we all experience globally, and the other a microcosm for smaller groupings of people in the way they’re affected by global events. What’s more, we experience ancestral trauma along our individual family lineage. The time is ripe for us to work together to heal not just our own wounds, but those of our global family.

Our ancestors are not in a far-off heaven. They walk among us, right here, right now, guiding us and hoping for our healing in this life. My work offers the chance for a do-over: for forgiveness, and for love to flourish where there was once only pain and misunderstanding. Strained family connections at the time of death can leave us troubled and uncertain, but we can learn to build a bridge to our loved ones in spirit, thus mending relationships on both sides of the veil.
